I remember Jim Ed Brown as a solo, and sort of remember the Browns -- or at least some of their songs, like "The Three Bells"* -- but never made the connection before. Thanks for the input.

*PS Funny coincidence -- <a href="http://katry.blogspot.com/2009/11/three-bells-browns.html" rel="nofollow">Keep The Coffee Coming</a> is featuring the song today.

Always been a fan of this group. In those days they just possessed that "dreamy" sound. I can tell you I danced to their songs more than a few times in those days.

A group with origins in my home state that I have always equated with The Fleetwoods was 'The Browns' (Jim Ed, Maxine and Bonnie) although they were always associated more with the country genre. Their path to pop fame was on about the same time-line. Always wondered if that was just pure coincidence or if one group perhaps influenced the other? :?

Wasn't it on Steve Allen's show that Elvis sang Hound Dog to a rather frightened looking basset dog? Elvis didn't like that much.
